Known for its stunning setting in a renovated Grade II-listed 13th-century manor, the restaurant has been steadily earning recognition, including three Michelin stars, the only one of two outside London, and two Michelin keys for its accommodation.
The latest accolade comes from Harden’s, a respected restaurant guide, which ranked Moor Hall first based on feedback from more than 30,000 reports collected from 2,500 diners. Just last year, the restaurant ranked 74th, making this rise to the top particularly remarkable.
Harden’s reviews describe Moor Hall as “an experience” with superb service, praising the front-of-house team as “professional, knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly.” Diners also lauded the food, calling the flavors “staggering” and the dishes “faultless in every way.”
The restaurant serves a nine-course dinner costing £265, with dishes like Isle of Mull scallop with fermented grains and cauliflower apple, Dorset sika deer with beetroot, elderberry and hen-of-the-woods ragout, and Ormskirk gingerbread.
