Background:

Whyte’s Restaurant, one of London’s most acclaimed dining spots, is taking its culinary talents to Glasgow with a one-night-only pop-up at the popular West Side Tavern in Partick on Thursday, November 20. After a 15-month run in Hackney, Whyte’s team decided to take their celebrated restaurant on a global tour, visiting 20 cities over six months. Now, the restaurant is going regional, bringing its signature style to Scotland for the first time.

Founded by chef Whyte Rushen and Livi Akers, founder of the culinary agency Lame Ltd, Whyte’s has earned a reputation for inventive menus, sold-out bookings, and a Michelin Guide mention.

Known for curating unique dining experiences in iconic locations, from Soho’s Quo Vadis to collaborations with global brands like Nike and Levi’s, the duo has created a 30-cover open kitchen restaurant in Hackney that changes its menu monthly to highlight seasonal ingredients and creative flavor combinations.

For this exclusive Glasgow event, the team will take over the West Side Tavern kitchen with a full à la carte menu. Highlights include scallop flatbread with caramelised artichoke purée and café de Paris butter, a playful Angus beef tartare with quail egg and Rice Krispies, and wild mushrooms with egg yolk and charred beetroot. Guests can also enjoy smoked haddock with roasted leeks, crispy pink fir potatoes, hay butter, and toasted yeast, finishing the evening with deep-fried clootie pudding with custard.

Described by the team as “all about good food, good company, and a fresh, fun take on Scottish flavour,” this pop-up promises an evening of inventive cuisine and memorable dining experiences. Food enthusiasts in Glasgow will have a rare opportunity to experience the creativity of Whyte’s Restaurant without traveling to London.

The event takes place on Thursday, November 20, at West Side Tavern, Partick, for one night only.
