Popeyes, the famous US fried chicken chain, opened its 100th UK restaurant last month at London Bridge station. The brand, which started in the UK in 2021, now has 27 locations in London and several more across the country, including Birmingham.

Tom Crowley, CEO of Popeyes UK, said the brand has seen strong success due to the authenticity of its menu and the quality of its hand-breaded fried chicken. “We’ve grown quicker than anticipated, and there are still plenty of opportunities for expansion across the UK,” he added.

The company plans to open almost 50 new restaurants in 2025 alone, creating more than 2,500 jobs, building on the 45 restaurants opened this year. Crowley emphasized that there is no public target for new locations, but Popeyes expects to maintain its rapid growth pace.

Popeyes has also found popularity in travel locations, serving commuters and holidaymakers. The new London Bridge outlet will offer the brand’s signature menu items alongside exciting new dishes. Crowley described reaching 100 restaurants in just four years as a “remarkable achievement” and highlighted the brand’s position as one of the most well-established fried chicken chains in the UK market.

With plans for continued expansion in 2026, Popeyes aims to bring its freshly cooked, hand-breaded fried chicken to even more customers across the country.
