Background:
Investors from Guernsey have purchased JPRestaurants, a leading hospitality company in Jersey that operates popular spots such as Banjo, Oyster Box, and Jersey Crab Shack. The deal was completed by CI Hospitality Limited, and the financial details were not disclosed.
This acquisition follows the group’s purchase of Randalls last year, a company that produces drinks such as Breda and operates more than 20 pubs, restaurants, hotels, and shops across Guernsey, Alderney, and Sark.
JPRestaurants confirmed that all its locations will continue to operate normally during the change of ownership. The company said the investment is aimed at securing the long-term future of its brands while keeping the character and heritage of each venue. Some updates are planned to make the sites more modern and attractive for visitors.
Managing Director Robert Jones will remain the company’s other shareholder and keep a large stake. Looking ahead, he said that in 2027, JPRestaurants will have been serving islanders and visitors for 80 years, and the new partnership is an opportunity to build on that history.
Jones added that the investment would help the company adapt to Jersey’s changing restaurant scene while continuing to offer the experiences that customers enjoy. He said many things will stay the same, including the friendly staff and iconic locations, but guests can expect some thoughtful updates to keep the restaurants fresh and enjoyable.
Brian O’Mahoney, Head of Corporate Finance at Ravenscroft Capital, owners of Channel Island Hospitality Ltd, praised JPRestaurants for its strong local presence and loyal following. He said the aim is to support the business with smart investment and guidance while keeping the unique character of each venue.
With this new investment, JPRestaurants is set to continue its long-standing legacy, providing locals and visitors with great dining experiences for many years to come.
